Stamp Posts 21 Points in 96-62 Victory over Concordia

WEST CHESTER, PA -  Lindsay Stamp (Erie, Pa. /Mercyhurst Prep) added a total 21 points to help lead the Crimson Hawks to a 96-62 victory over Concordia (N.Y.) Saturday in the team's second game of the Carol Eckman Tournament. 
 
To earn her 21 points, Stamp went 5-of-10 in field goals, 3-of-5 in three pointers, and 4-of-5 in free throws.  She also recorded four rebounds and two assists. 
 
Concordia attacked first in the first minute of play, but it was the only time that they would lead the game.  The Crimson Hawks took off with a 16-0 run that finished with a score of 28-6 with just less than 10 minutes in the half.  Later, IUP went on another 12-0 run, leaving Concordia trailing 47-19. 
 
The team went into halftime with a strong 59-28 lead. 
 
The Crimson Hawks dominated the second half, and led by at least 20 points throughout the 20 minute half.  IUP's strongest lead came with just six minutes left to play and a scoring gap of 38 points. 
 
Overall the team recorded 49.3 field goal percentage, 42.9 three point percentage, and 72.4 free throw percentage making 21-of-29 shots from the foul line. 
 
Other statistical leaders for the Crimson Hawks included starters Amy Fairman (Creekside, Pa. /Marion Center), Ashley Stoner (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Thomas Jefferson), and Marita Mathe (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana)
 
Stoner went 5-for-5 from the foul line, adding to her 15 total points.  She also tallied five rebounds and three assists.   Fairman put up 16 points, four rebounds and three assists, followed by Mathe with 13 points and 5 assists.
 
This win is the second for the Crimson Hawks who are coming off a 75-57 win over The Sciences Friday night. 
 
Tuesday, November 18th, IUP will host Ohio Valley in their home opener at the KCAC at 7:00 p.m.
