SHIPPENSBURG – Senior
Brandon Norfleet (Virginia Beach, Va. /Landstown) matched his career-high of 26 points as IUP won its fourth-straight game Friday at Shippensburg, 70-51.
For the third time in as many games, Norfleet matched his career-high in scoring, as he also put up 26 points against American International Sunday and Gannon Tuesday. The guard, who shot 11-18 from the floor and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line, also pulled down nine rebounds and added four assists in his 38 minutes of game time.
Sophomore
Anthony Glover (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) was the only other Crimson Hawk in double figures with 11 points. His backcourt mate, freshman
Dante Lombardi (Indiana, Pa./The Kiski School), scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds, but was limited to just 18 minutes due to foul trouble.
The Crimson Hawks trailed by one point, 7-6, with 15:40 left in the first half. However, the deficit was short lived, as IUP was able to play from ahead, including a 20-point lead with just more than a minute remaining in the game.
IUP as a team shot 27-52 from the floor, hitting on 51.2 percent of its attempts.
IUP, now 6-3 overall, has won four consecutive games while upping its PSAC record to 3-2. The Crimson Hawks get back in action Saturday in a game at Kutztown, with tipoff set for 4 p.m.
