Bailey Scores Both Goals in Field Hockey’s 2-1 Overtime Win at Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Junior Amber Bailey (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) scored both of the Crimson Hawks' goals, including the game-winner in IUP field hockey's 2-1 overtime win at Seton Hill on Tuesday afternoon.

The goals were Bailey's second and third in the last two games as IUP broke a two-game losing streak to improve to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

The Griffins (0-8, 0-2) opened the scoring at the 10:02 mark of the first half, but Bailey tied things up just 11 minutes later with a goal off a deflection on a shot from the top of the circle.

The rain-soaked game went to overtime, the second of the season between IUP and Seton Hill, where Bailey took advantage of a loose ball in front of the cage to give the Crimson Hawks the victory.

IUP had the offensive advantage all game long, totaling nine shots to Seton Hill's two. The Crimson Hawks also totaled 13 penalty corners while the Griffins finished with two.

It was the second overtime game of the season with Seton Hill, as IUP won a 0-0 contest in penalty strokes back on Sept. 9 at home.

The Crimson Hawks head east this weekend to face No. 4 West Chester on Saturday afternoon. First, IUP will finish its game against No. 1 Millersville on Friday night. The two teams took a 1-1 tie into the second overtime on Sept. 12 before rain and poor field conditions forced the game to be suspended.
