INDIANA, Pa. – Sophomore 
Selena West (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) and junior 
Madelyn Mullen (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) scored goals ten minutes apart as the IUP field hockey team earned a 2-1 upset over third-ranked Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon at George P. Miller Stadium.
With the win IUP improves to 2-2 while Bloomsburg falls to 5-2.
In the first half, Mullen nearly gave the Crimson Hawks an early lead as her shot was saved by Husky goalkeeper Lindsay Cassel at the 19:34-mark. Minutes later Stephanie Halsted put Bloomsburg on the board in the 25th minute.
West tied the game at 1-1 with her unassisted tally early in the second half off a penalty corner from 
Amber Bailey (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra). Mullen then capped off the upset when she scored on a shot from 15-yards out in the 54th minute. IUP came close to extending the lead just minutes later when a shot from West was saved at the 56:12-mark.
Both teams totaled eight shots while Bloomsburg held a 7-4 edge in penalty corners.
The Crimson Hawks continue non-conference play tomorrow when they host Bellarmine at 1 p.m.
