Saturday IUP Baseball doubleheader canceled; Series wraps up on Sunday

UPDATE NO. 2: Saturday's game has been canceled due to rain in Williamston. IUP and Millersville will wrap their series up with a doubleheader on Sunday morning.

UPDATE: IUP has announced schedule changes ahead of this weekend's series with No. 6 Millersville. The Crimson Hawks and Marauders will now play a single 9-inning game on Friday night at 7:30 p.m., another single game on Saturday at a time to be determined, and a doubleheader on Sunday at 10 a.m. These changes were made due to forecasted rain in the Williamston area this weekend.

THE WEEKEND AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks square off against the 14th-ranked Marauders of Millersville on Saturday and Sunday in Williamston, N.C.IUP and Millersville will play doubleheaders on both Saturday (1 & 3 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. & 12 p.m.).
 
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
*IUP returns to action for the first time since March 5 after having its four-game series at East Stroudsburg canceled last weekend because of inclement weather
*Since the 2011 season, the Crimson Hawks are 9-8 against Millersville. Last season the Marauders recorded a 15-7 win over IUP in Williamston, N.C.
*Freshman outfielder Chris Eisel (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double in an 8-3 win over Winston-Salem State on March 4. Ted DeSanti (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) drove in two runs while going 1-for-5. Cory Wheeler (Butler, Pa./Butler), Scott Hess (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) and Wes Carson (Woodstock, Md./Marriots Ridge) each scored two runs in the win
*Sophomore righty Jeff Allen (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area) earned the win after tossing five scoreless innings while striking out six and scattering four hits
*Junior Dan Sepic (York, Pa./Central York) is the Crimson Hawks top returner from a year ago, earning All-Atlantic Region and All-PSAC West honors as a utility player; The infielder and pitcher hit .324 with a .554 slugging percentage and went 4-2 with four saves as a reliever
