SERIES AT A GLANCE
In what could decide both teams postseason fates, the Crimson Hawks square off against rival California (Pa.) in a four-game series this weekend. IUP will host the opening doubleheader on Friday at Owen Dougherty Field on Senior Day for the Crimson Hawks. Cal will then host games three and four at CONSOL Energy Park on Saturday. Both doubleheaders have first pitch times of 1 p.m.
STORYLINES / WHAT TO WATCH FOR
* IUP and Cal enter the weekend separated by just one game in the PSAC West standings, with IUP in a two-way tie for third at 11-9 while the Vulcans are fifth at 10-10 in the division
* The top four teams in each division (East and West) earn berths in the PSAC tournament May 10-13 in Johnstown; Both teams wrap up their regular seasons next weekend, with IUP facing Pitt-Johnstown (17-23, 7-13) and Cal playing Mercyhurst (31-3, 18-2)
* The Crimson Hawks are 8-12 against Cal since 2012, splitting three of those five series while losing two; The home-away split is even, with IUP going 4-6 agianst Cal at home and at CONSOL Energy Park
* Cal has lost three of its five series this season, going a combined 3-9 against Pitt-Johnstown, Clarion and Slippery Rock; IUP posted a combined 6-2 record against Clarion and Slippery Rock this year
