MEADVILLE, Pa. – Seniors
Greg Beaudette (Johnston, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) and
Austin Cooper (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) finished second and third in the men's race as the IUP cross country teams competed in the Allegheny College Classic on Saturday afternoon.
The IUP men tied for second overall out of 11 teams and the women came in eighth out of 11 in their respective race.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Beaudette crossed the finish line with a time of 20:03 in the four mile run, an average of 5:01 per mile. Cooper trailed Beaudette by just three seconds with a time of 20:06. They were two of four IUP men's runners to finish in the top 20 out of 107 total runners, joined by
Noah Mandel (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) in 18th and
Ryan Louther (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) in 20th. Mandel finished with a time of 21:13 while Louther followed at 21:20. Also scoring for IUP was freshman
Sam Lenze (Indiana, PA), who was 28th overall with a time of 21:33.
The Crimson Hawks tied host Allegheny for second with 71 total places with the top five runners. Carnegie Mellon won the meet on the men's side, with its top five runners all placing in the top 12 overall.
For the IUP women, junior
Sam Christman (Limerick, PA./Spring-Ford) paced the team with a 24th place finish out of 134 total runners. She finished with a time of 19:26 on the three mile course.
Freshman
Tricia Varner (Sidman, PA/Forest Mills) trailed Christman by just nine seconds, finishing 28th overall with a time of 19:35. Senior
Nicole Best (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) was IUP's third finisher in 36th, junior
Mikayla Plafcan (Danville, Pa./Danville) was 43rd, and sophomore
Anna Falvo () was 50th overall. They had times of 19:58, 20:12 and 20:28.
The Crimson Hawks' top five runners scored 181 points, trailing women's winner Carnegie Mellon's 35.
