SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Junior midfielder
Kalista Gioglio (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) scored her third goal in the last four games, but the lone score wasn't enough for IUP field hockey as the Crimson Hawks fell to Slippery Rock 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Gioglio's goal tied the game at 1-1 in the 56th minute, but Slippery Rock's Alyssa Castle scored the eventual game-winner with less than four minutes to play. IUP falls to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play with the loss.
Junior midfielder
Matti Reightler (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) assisted on Gioglio's goal, her fifth dish of the year. It was Gioglio's third goal this season.
Senior goalie
Alyssa Lerda (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland) had five saves in goal for the Crimson Hawks.
The game was statistically identical, with both finishing with 12 penalty corners, nine shots, and seven shots on goal.

The Crimson Hawks host No. 1 East Stroudsburg (8-2, 1-1) this Saturday at 1 p.m. The Warriors defeated IUP 3-0 at home on September 9.
