MANSFIELD, Pa.- On a goal with only six seconds left to play, IUP field hockey lost a 3-2 battle at Mansfield Wednesday afternoon.
With the loss, IUP falls to 3-9 overall and 2-3 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
The Mountaineers (8-5, 4-1) wasted no time as they were the first to score less than three minutes into the game. One 1:28 after Mansfield's goal, junior forward
Kimberly Kelly answered with a goal assisted by sophomore
Georgiana Chiavacci, tying the score 1-1. With defense strong on both sides, the scored remained 1-1 at the end of the first halfof play.

Kalista Gioglio broke the tie 8:46 into the second half with a goal off a penalty corner, assisted by Kelly and classmate
Matti Reightler. The Crimson Hawks held that 2-1 lead for a majority of the second half and looked like they were going to finish off the road upset before Mansfield tied things up with under six minutes to play.
Then, with just four seconds left, Mansfield struck again with the game-winner.
Mansfield held a 15-11 advantage in shots, including 13-6 in shots on goal. IUP senior goalie
Olivia Accardi made 10 saves. A total of 3 green and 1 yellow card were given in the game, with one green card in the first half, two green and one yellow in the second half.
