ERIE, Pa. – The IUP field hockey team dropped a 1-0 decision to Mercyhurst Tuesday afternoon in Erie.
It was the fourth straight the loss for the Crimson Hawks, who fell to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
The Lakers (4-10, 2-4) wasted no time as they were the first to score 19 minutes in the first half of play. Strong defense on both sides led the score to remain 1-0 at the end of the first play. This strong defense continued into the second half a play, shutting out the Crimson Hawks.
