YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Three men's 800 meter runners and four long jumper hit conference qualifying marks as the IUP track & field teams competed on the second day of Youngstown State's Mid-Major Invitational Saturday.
The 800 runners were led by a second place finish from
Austin Cooper (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion), who crossed the line with a time of 1:56.00.
Derek Noll (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) came in fourth at 1:56.36 and
Dylan Ruefle (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) was 11th at 1:58.28.
IUP high jumpers landed in four of the top seven spots while hitting PSAC qualifying marks.
Ricky Fayad (Hookstown, Pa./South Side),
Charles Wilson-Adams (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone), and
Christian Jones (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) all cleared 2.00 meters (6-06.75),
John Capitosti (Indiana, Pa./Homer-Center) leapt 1.90 meters (6.02.75).

Other men's qualifying marks included
Julius Rivera (Monroevilla, Pa./Gateway) in the 60 meters, who finished fourth overall with a time of 6.99, and Donovan Burris with a shot put throw of 13.65 meters (44-09.5).
Three IUP women hit qualifying marks in the 200 meters, including Ykendi Hood with a time of 26.13,
Heather Sternby (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) at 26.26, and
Jada Wilson (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) at 26.37. Wilson also hit a qualifying time in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.42 and
Jessica Jones (South Park, Pa./South Park) ran a 2:23.48 in the 800 meters.
