Box Score 3 SALISBURY, N.C. – IUP baseball combined for 36 runs in three games as the Crimson Hawks tallied wins over Lock Haven and Bloomsburg before falling to Catawba over the last two days in North Carolina.
IUP defeated Lock Haven 13-7 and Bloomsburg 17-6 Tuesday night in Wilson, N.C., and lost at Catawba 16-6 in Salisbury Wednesday evening.
Cory Wheeler (Butler, Pa./Butler),
Ted DeSanti (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep), and
Anthony Rigous (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) each had a home run and drove in five runs in Tuesday's wins.
Luke Hollander (Royal Palm Beach, Fl./Royal Palm Beach) also bashed a homer and drove in three runs, and
Dan Sepic (York, Pa./Central York) had five hits and six RBI.
Chris Eisel (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) also had five hits and scored seven runs in two games.
JP Pellis (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Central Catholic) and
Brian Albert (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) were the starting pitchers for the Crimson Hawks Tuesday, each getting credit for victories. Pellis struck out five in four innings of work, giving up four hits and two earned runs. Albert went six innings, striking out four with three earned runs.
Sepic and
Matt Swartz (Sarver PA/Freeport) each had three hits in Wednesday's loss to Catwaba. DeSanti went 2-3 with three RBI and Rigous drove in a pair.

The Crimson Hawks are off for eight days before returning to the diamond next Friday, March 23 in their conference opener at Pitt-Johnstown. IUP is scheduled to host UPJ in its home opener March 24.
