WEEKEND AT A GLANCE
IUP baseball (4-12, 1-3 PSAC West) faces a huge test this weekend with their series against ninth-ranked Mercyhurst (13-3, 4-0 PSAC West). Doubleheaders are scheduled for Friday and Saturday with the entire four-game set moved to Erie due to soggy conditions at Owen Dougherty Field. The Crimson Hawks went 1-3 against Pitt-Johnstown last weekend while Mercyhurst swept California (Pa.).

NOTES
>> IUP ended the Pitt-Johnstown series on a high-note with a 3-2 victory in game four Monday afternoon; Matt Swartz (Sarver PA/Freeport) hit a game-winning solo homer in the sixth inning, his first round-tripper of the season
>> Swartz is the top hitter for the Crimson Hawks through 16 games this season, batting .438 with a .656 slugging percentage; He hit .429 with six hits, four RBI and a .786 slugging percentage in the UPJ series
>> Ted DeSanti (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) and Nate Dickey (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) each hit .444 against the Mountain Cats, while Chris Calliari (Brockway, Pa./Brockway Area) his .429 with a pair of doubles in seven plate appearances
>> Chris Eisel (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) leads IUP in runs scored, crossing the plate 20 times this year; He's reached base 35 times – 22 hits, 11 walks, two hit by pitch
>> RHP Brian Albert (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) earned IUP's win on the mound, tossing 6.0 innings with seven strikeouts in game four; Albert is 2-0 in four appearances (three starts) this year with 19 strikeouts in 18.0 innings
>> Dan Sepic (York, Pa./Central York) and DeSanti are among the PSAC leaders in hit by pitch with six and five, respectively
>> Mercyhurst has the best pitching staff in the PSAC with a league-leading 2.54 ERA, eight shutouts, and 181 strikeouts in 142.0 innings
