SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Dylan Ruefle (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) and Liz Coppella (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) opened weekend action for the IUP men's and women's track & field teams as they competed in the harsh weather at Slippery Rock's SRU Open Thursday.
 
RESULTS

Ruefle battled high winds in the 800 meters to finish fifth overall in the event with a time of 2:03.73. Those windy conditions forced the pole vault indoors as Coppella finished sixth overall with a PSAC qualifying height of 3.61 meters.

The meet was the first of two and three straight days of action for the Crimson Hawks. They'll send a contingent of athletes to Columbus, Ohio this weekend for the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State.
