COLUMBUS, Ohio –
Jada Wilson (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) ran an NCAA provisional time in the 400 meter hurdles, highlighting day two at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic for the IUP track & field teams Saturday.
Wilson sprinted to a personal best time of 1:01.69 in the event, finishing fifth overall and ahead of athletes from Toledo, Akron, and Ohio State.
RESULTS
It's the fastest 400 hurdle time in the PSAC this year and the third fastest in the Atlantic Region.
Wilson had one of six qualifying times for the Crimson Hawks Saturday. Joining her on the women's side were
Heather Sternby (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) and
Liz Coppella (Bradford, Pa./Bradford). Sternby ran a season best time of 56.88 in the 400 meters while Coppella cleared 3.52 meters in the pole vault. They finished 12th and 14th place in their respective events.
On the men's side,
Austin Cooper (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) and
Justin Jones (Lansdown, Pa./Cardinal O'hara) hit conference qualifying times in the 800 meters. Cooper finished 16th with a time of 1:54.51 and Jones crossed in 24th with a time of 1:56.83.
Julius Rivera (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) ran a season-best time of 10.78 in the 100 meters to finish ninth.

The Crimson Hawks will compete in the 124th Penn Relay Carnival and Shippensburg's Paul Kaiser Classic next weekend.
