SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -
Heather Sternby (Meadville, Pa./Meadville),
Jada Wilson (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) and
Austin Cooper (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) take top seeded times into the finals after men's and women's track and field competed on the second day of the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Championships.
Sternby placed second in the 200 meter dash prelims with a time of 24.81 and fourth in the 400 meter with a time of 57.01. Both of these times advance her to the finals tomorrow.
Wilson picked up a first place prelims time of 1:01.94 in the 400 meter hurdles, along with seventh in the 100 meter hurdles (14.88). Wilson's times qualifies her to compete in Sunday's finals.
The women's track and field team had two other qualifying times.
Raven Russell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) posted seventh in the 100 meter dash (12.05), and the women's 4x100 meter relay team advances with a time of 48.55.
Jessica Jones (South Park, Pa./South Park) finished 10th in the 800 meter (2:18.54), and
Sam Christman (Limerick, PA./Spring-Ford) placed 11th in the 300 meter steeplechase, finishing with a 12:03.35.
In the men's 800 meter run,
Austin Cooper (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) ran a 1:52.26, finishing in fourth, while teammates
Derek Noll (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) (1:53.10) and
Dylan Ruefle (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) (1:57.39) followed behind in sixth and 12th respectively. Noll also qualified in the 400 meter with a sixth place time of 48.87.
Julius Rivera (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) finished with a qualifying time of 10.70 in the men's 100 meter dash. The men's 4x100 meter relay team will also be competing tomorrow, as they placed and finished with a time of 43.12.

Makena Felts (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) placed on the podium, as she finished sixth in Thursday's 10000 meter run (38:56.94).
