INDIANA, Pa. –
Paeton Hartmann scored in the 53rd minute to lift the IUP field hockey team to a 2-1 win over visiting Lindenwood Thursday night at Miller Stadium.
Hartmann's goal broke a 1-1 tie and the IUP defense held Lindenwood without a shot the rest of the way as the Crimson Hawks picked up a non-league win to improve to 8-7 overall.
IUP owned a huge advantage on the offensive side outshooting Lindenwood 18-9, putting up 11 shots in the opening half.
The Crimson Hawks were able to connect on just one of those first half shots as
Blaise Cugini tied the game midway through the second quarter.
Cugini had three shots on goal and also assisted on Hartmann's game-winner.
Georgiana Chiavacci had four shots on goal.
Lexi Ciano finished with four saves in the cage.

The Crimson Hawks get back to conference play Saturday at third place and No. 8-ranked Shippensburg (9-5, 6-2). Game time is at noon.
