INDIANA, Pa. – Junior goalie
Lexi Ciano had a career-high eight saves but the Crimson Hawks couldn't pull the upset Saturday as they fell to No. 1-ranked Millersville 1-0 at Miller Stadium.
The Millersville (9-1, 2-1 PSAC) goal came early on with Erica Tarsi ripping a shot in from just inside the circle off a corner attempt.
The IUP defense, led by Ciano, held strong the rest of the way keeping the top-ranked Marauders off the scoreboard despite 12 shots in the game.
The Crimson Hawks (5-5, 1-2 PSAC) managed just two shots on the Marauders, both by freshman
Blaise Cugini. IUP did have several offensive chances late in the game, but giveaways and fouls in the final minutes did the Crimson Hawks in.
