THE WEEKEND AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks open up the 2019 season this weekend in Glenville, West Virginia. IUP will face Glenville State on Satruday and West Virginia Weseleyan on Sunday.  

NOTES
>> The Crimson Hawks are coming off a 20-17 (11-9 PSAC) season in 2018. They advanced to the PSAC tournament for the fourth consecutive year.
>> IUP was picked to finish third in the PSAC Central Preseason Coaches' Poll behind Lock Haven and Bloomsburg. 
>> Headlining the roster is two-year All-PSAC selection Kaitlyn Beers. The second baseman was named to the Watch List for 2019 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II Player of the Year. She led the Crimson Hawks with 33 runs scored, 46 base hits, 13 doubles, four home runs, 33 runs batted in, and a .575 slugging percentage last season. 
>> Senior pitching duo Lauren Zola and Megan Risinger return with a combined 134 strikeouts last season. Risinger led the team with a 3.48 ERA in 20 appearances. Zola led the team in multiple categories including strikeouts (107) and wins (10-11). Sophomore Brooklyn Kotula appeared in 11 games in the circle. Kotula struck out 10 and gave up eight earned runs in 25.0 innings. 
>> Offensive weapons also returning are junior Kassie Kesneck and sophmore Renee Wall. Kesneck boasted a .328 batting average, 10 stolen bases, nine doubles and a triple last season. Wall earned All-Atlantic Region honors and led the team with a .370 batting average. She had the second-most runs batted in (27) and tied Beers for 13 doubles in 2018. 
>> The Crimson Hawks travel to Florida for the Spring Games at Legends Way Ball field March 8-16. IUP's first home doubleheader is set for March 23 vs Shippensburg.
