INDIANA, Pa. - The 10th-ranked IUP field hockey team dropped its second game of the weekend with a 2-0 loss to visiting Newberry Sunday afternoon at George P. Miller Stadium.
The Crimson Hawks were playing in their second game in as many days as they fell to 4-2 overall on the season. Newberry improved to 2-2.
IUP outshot Newberry 13-7 for the game, including 4-1 in the first half and 9-6 in the second. IUP also had 15 corners compared to Newberry's six.
Newberry scored both of its goals in the second half, getting on the board first after three minutes had passed in the third quarter off reserve goalie
Delaney Gillman. The Wolves added their insurance goal with less than five minutes to play.

The Crimson Hawks are back in action Wednesday with a trip to Erie to face off against Mercyhurst. This will be IUP's last game against a conference opponent before its PSAC schedule officially starts next weekend.
