Hawks enter final week of regular season

INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP women's volleyball team enters the final week of the regular season with two matches left on the schedule. The Crimson Hawks will host Pitt-Johnstown Tuesday at 7 p.m. and travel to Clarion on Friday and play at 6 p.m.

The Crimson Hawks enter the week having won five of their last seven matches - their best streak of the season - and hold out playoff hopes as they are still alive for the PSAC tournament. With a 6-8 divisional record, IUP is tied with Mercyhurst for fifth in the PSAC West standings, two games back of Cal U (8-6) for the fourth and final spot. The Vulcans and Lakers play Friday in Erie, while Cal U wraps up at Gannon ( ) and Mercyhurst hosts Seton Hill (5-9) in their finale. One win this week by Cal U would eliminate IUP from contention.

Pitt-Johnstown enters the week with a 12-11 overall record and is tied for seventh in the division at 5-9. Clarion is 18-8 and has clinched a spot in the PSAC tournament with a 10-4 division record.
