Notes
>>The games with Slippery Rock will not count in the conference standings for either team, as the doubleheader was scheduled outside of the mandated divisional slate.
>> IUP and SRU did not play a season ago, as the pandemic forced the cancellation of the season before the start of conference play. The Crimson Hawks won the last series between these two teams in April 2019, including a split of games played in Slippery Rock.
>> IUP and Frostburg State met last year for the first time, with the Hawks winning 13-9 in Cary, North Carolina.
>> Several Hawks opened the year with solid performances at the plate against Malone, as five batters are currently hitting at least .400. Chris Eisel and Harrison Pontoli each totaled four hits on the day, while Nick Hess had two doubles and three RBI.
>> IUP's pitching was strong in the opening 5-1 win, with JP Pellis and Mark Edeburn giving up just two hits and no earned runs while striking out nine.
>> In game two, Billy Welsh struck seven batters in just 3.1 innings of work. Seven runs were scored on him, with just two being earned.
