MANSFIELD, Pa. – The IUP cross country teams concluded the 2022 season at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships on a brisk Saturday at Lamb's Creek Cross Country Course in Mansfield.
IUP finished 10th overall in the men's race, while the women posted a 17th-place finish with many runners making their debut at the regional race.
The Crimson Hawks finished the day with a pair of runners inside the top 50 overall for the men.
Dan Gibney paced IUP with a 35th-place time of 30:40.7.
Evan Weaver followed in 46th overall (31:02.8) near the top of the IUP lineup.
For the women, first year runner
Stella Kuntz was the top IUP finisher with a 24:25.7 and 68th place.
Tori James was second among the IUP women in 90th (25:00.3) before
Madison Hartner in 97th (25:11.6).
Ethan Ribelin and
Marco Cardone were 77th and 78th for the men's team, respectively, with times of 32:06.9 and 32:07.9.
Katie McCormick (25:18.9) and
Hannah Miller (26.49.1) closed out the top five for the IUP women, while
Emily Schrag (27:49.8) and
Jada King (27:52.1) represented the sixth and seventh runners for the Crimson Hawks.
Rounding out the scoring lineup for IUP was
Adam Lechleitner in 97th behind a 32:52.7.
Tom Brady and
Mitch Chunta closed out the top seven for the Crimson Hawks.
Charleston (W.Va.) won the men's race in the team standings, followed by Edinboro. Concord placed third with individual winner Isaac Prather posting a 39:25.0.
Edinboro clinched the team title on the women's side, placing a pair of runners inside the top two overall.
