LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Sophomore forward Tomiwa Sulaiman repeated as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

With no weekly awards last Monday, Sulaiman earns his second consecutive defensive award this season dating back to November 21. He helped lead third-ranked IUP men's basketball to three victories, pushing the team's record to a perfect 7-0.

The high-energy Sulaiman averaged 11.0 points and nine rebounds in three starts, adding six blocks, five steals and four assists. The London, England native was particularly impressive in an Atlantic Region battle against New Haven on November 26 at the KCAC, logging 19 points and 11 rebounds (nine defensive) with three blocks and one steal.

Sulaiman logged eight points and sveen rebounds in just 20 minutes against Mansfield, picking up two more blocks. The forward closed out a 3-0 stretch with six points, nine rebounds, two steals and one block in a blowout victory against Bloomsburg on December 3.

IUP breaks from on-court action for final exams before rounding out the nonconference slate against Penn State Altoona on Sunday, December 11 at the KCAC. Tipoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
