INDIANA, Pa. - IUP and the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex will host the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Atlantic Region Championship March 12-15. IUP earned the right to host the regional tournament as the NCAA Selection Committee made the Crimson Hawks the top seed.
This marks the third time in the last four years IUP has earned the top seed and hosting rights in the Atlantic Region.
IUP is one of four teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) to earn selection, as the Hawks won the PSAC tournament title on Sunday. Other PSAC teams competing are No. 3 seed Cal U, No. 4 seed Millersville and No. 5 seed Mercyhurst. West Libertywon the Mountain East Conference (MEC) tournament and is the No. 2 seed. No. 6 seed Fairmont State and No. 7 seed West Virginia State are also from the MEC. Fayetteville State is the No. 8 seed and is the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) tournament champion.
