INDIANA, Pa. - The IUP softball program had two players earn all-league honors as Joelle Snyder and Jenna Rhue were recognized by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in its 2022 postseason awards, announced Wednesday afternoon.

Both were second team PSAC West selections - Snyder at shortstop and Rhue at catcher. The two helped the Crimson Hawks to the program's first PSAC tournament appearance since 2018.

This is Snyder's fourth career All-PSAC honor, including three as an undergrad at Mansfield. The grad transfer shortstop led the Hawks in batting average (.346), runs scored (26), hits (44), doubles (9), triples (2), and stolen bases (20) from her leadoff spot. She was the only IUP player to start all 38 games, had a team-best 15 multi-hit games, and had two six-game hit streaks.

Snyder finished her career with a .374 batting average, 170 hits, 35 doubles, 15 triples, 10 homers and 86 RBI in 138 career games between IUP and Mansfield.

Rhue, a senior, ends her playing career as a two-time all-conference selection, earning first team honors as a catcher in 2019. She found her power swing in 2022, ranking among the PSAC leaders with 10 home runs and a .664 slugging percentage. The home runs are third in IUP single season history while the slugging ranks fifth all-time. Rhue had a team-high 32 RBI and a 1.056 OPS, was second with 22 runs and 37 hits, and fourth with a .327 batting average. She also threw out five of the nine base runners attempting to steal on her in 2022.

IUP finished the season with a 17-21 overall record, including 8-8 in the PSAC West to finish fifth. The Hawks went 1-2 in the PSAC tournament.
