INDIANA, Pa. - Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) Director of Athletics
Todd Garzarelli announced that
Ryan Rebholz has resigned from his position as Director of Strategic Communications and Ideation.
Rebholz's last day at IUP is Thursday, July 28. He has accepted a communications and marketing position outside of athletics for an international scientific membership organization.
Rebholz has worked in the IUP athletic communications office for 11 years, beginning in July 2011 as the Director of Sports Information. His position title was upgraded to Director of Strategic Communications and Ideation in the summer of 2021. In his role he served as the media contact for the athletic department, the director of athletic communications for IUPAthletics.com, and managed the branding, visual design, promotion and publicity for the Crimson Hawks' 19 varsity sports.
"Ryan did an excellent job serving and promoting our student-athletes, coaches, and programs," said Garzarelli. "He brought a tremendous dedication for his job, creativity for promoting our teams, and appreciation for those around him. His presence will be missed and we wish him the best of luck in his new career path."
While at IUP, Rebholz promoted many nationally-ranked programs, four Division II national semifinalists and one national finalist, covered 21 PSAC championships, 74 All-Americans, two individual national champions, and 20 Academic All-Americans. He served as host SID for many postseason games and tournaments, including five PSAC basketball championship sites and four NCAA basketball regional tournaments.
"It has been an honor and privilege to work at an institution like IUP for the last 11 years," said Rebholz. "I will miss the staff and students I worked with, and the coaches and student-athletes I cheered for. There are so many great moments that I will always hold close to my heart. But I am very excited for my next step and will always be cheering for the crimson and gray."
