The Crimson Hawks took the road to East Stroudsburg, PA in their first game of the season. The Hawks took the win against the Warriors in the last three seconds of the fourth quarter, with a score of 38-35. After the loss of IUP Frank Cignetti Sr., the Hawks went out to get the win for the 'Big Guy'. A couple of standouts were transfer quarterback Mak Sexton who threw for 367 passing yards in his first game with the Hawks. Another stand out was Duane Brown, the wide receiver is now the 8th player in program history with a 200-yard game.
Adam Houser had the first touchdown of the season for the Crimson Hawks with a rush of nine yards into the end zone. Parker Gregg struck next as the freshman ran the ball up the middle to put the Hawks up, 13-0. Transfer Derek Lockhart had the only touchdown of the second quarter making the score 20-0 but the Warriors struck back with 14 more points ending the first half 20-14. East Stroudsburg struck again in the third, having the lead 28-26 until wide receiver Hilton Ridley scored his first touchdown of the game and the Hawks converted the two point tying the game. Brown put the Hawks back into the winning column, making the score 35-28, followed by another ESU touchdown tying the game once more. With three seconds left in the fourth quarter, freshman Nick Andrasi kicked to seal the win for the Hawks 38-35.
Nick Andrasi was the key to success in finishing this match up. This was his first field goal for the Crimson Hawks, which was a thirty-two yard kick. Duane Brown was a fierce component, with 214 receiving yards and a touchdown his performance helped push the Hawks to victory.
