INDIANA, Pa. - IUP golf, volleyball, field hockey, soccer, cross country, tennis and football will all be in action this week.
The IUP golf team will be competing in their first event of the fall on Monday and Tuesday. The Hawks will be traveling to West Virginia to compete in the Golden Eagle Invitational which will take place at Edgewood Country Club. The team will then be traveling to the Mercyhurst Invitational that will be taking place at Lake View Country Club on Friday and Saturday.
The Crimson Hawks volleyball team (10-1, 0-0) are facing Slippery Rock in their first conference match of the season on Tuesday at 7pm. The Hawks went undefeated during their home invitational this past weekend and will be looking to carry this momentum into their upcoming match against the Rock. The Hawks will return to the court Saturday where they will face the Edinboro Fighting Scots at 6pm in the KCAC.Â
The IUP field hockey team is on the road this Wednesday where they will face the Mercyhurst Lakers at 2pm. The Crimson Hawks are on a two match win streak after defeating Mansfield 4-3 and will be looking to improve on their 13-10 overall record against the Lakers.
The IUP women's soccer team will be facing the Edinboro Fighting Scots on Wednesday at South Campus Field. Kickofff is set for 4pm. The Hawks will be back in action on Saturday where they will face Clarion away at 4pm. IUP currently has a 0-0-3 record and the Fighting Scots and Golden Eagles have 0-3-2 and 1-5-0 records respectively.Â
The IUP women's tennis team are traveling to Bloomsburg this week where they will be competing in the 2022 ITA Atlantic Region Championships. Players from the entire region will be competing in this three-day tournament and IUP will be trying to emulate last years success of taking both the singles and doubles titles.
The IUP men's and women's cross country team are traveling to Meadville, PA to compete at the Allegheny Classic. Races are set to start at 10:45am at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
The IUP football team will be facing the Shippensburg Raiders on the road this Saturday at 1pm. The Hawks are coming off the back of a 38-35Â win against the East Stroudsburg Warriors after a game winning field goal with three seconds left on the clock. The team will be looking to take this winning energy into their next game and advance on their 23-2 record against the Raiders.
