BROOKFIELD, Ill. – IUP football had a trio of offensive players earn recognition on the 2022 Don Hansen Division II All-America teams, announced earlier this week.
Duane Brown was a First Team selection, with offensive lineman
Darrell Davis and
John Robinson picking up Honorable Mention laurels.
The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
Brown is one of just three wide receivers in the country to earn First Team accolades, joining Bemidji State's Brendan Beaulieu and Concord's Jarod Bowie. Brown has earned a multitude of postseason awards, including a spot on the D2Football.com Elite 100 earlier in January.
Brown earned Second Team All-America recognition from the Associated Press (AP) and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) as a Harlon Hill nominee. The PSAC West Offensive Player of the Year, Brown picked up First Team All-Super Region One honors in December 2022.
Brown capped his final season in an IUP uniform with 74 catches, 1,145 yards and 18 touchdowns. He finished as a three-time All-PSAC selection and ranked second in school history in each of those categories.
Meanwhile, Davis and Robinson are All-PSAC West First Team selections as part of a cohesive IUP offensive line.
Davis was named a First Team All-Super Region One selection. Academically, he earned Second Team Academic All-America recognition from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) in late December.
Davis and Robinson were both key starters for an IUP offensive line that allowed just five sacks through 12 games, helping the Crimson Hawks win their fifth Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) title game in November.
Robinson and Bruce are both two-time All-PSAC selections, while Brown earned three all-conference accolades during his accomplished career.
IUP finished off another excellent season in 2022, going 10-2 overall and finishing 11th in the final AFCA rankings. The Hawks secured the 2022 PSAC Championship against Shepherd, earning the top seed in Super Region One.
