LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – IUP men's indoor track sophomore
Kendall Branan was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Branan had a strong showing last weekend at the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational, placing first in the 800m with an NCAA provisional mark while anchoring a third-place 4x400m relay.
Branan posted a 1:51.56 in the 800, marking the fastest time in the Atlantic Region and ninth fastest in NCAA DII. The Indiana, Pa. native was part of a 3:26.47 in the 4x400 to finish out the meet.
It marks the first weekly award for the IUP indoor track & field team in just the second meet of the season.
The Hawks are back in action this weekend in Virginia, competing in the Liberty Open on Saturday, February 4.
