STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – IUP indoor track & field continued improving across the board just one week out from the conference championships, adding 12 total Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks at Friday's Penn State Tune Up event.
Kendall Branan added another NCAA Provisional mark in the 800m, finishing fourth overall with a 1:50.22.
Cahsia Page and
Hailey Dodson headlined some strong performances for the women's squad, each nabbing second in their events.
Dodson posted a second-place PSAC mark in the shot put (12.65) with Page posting second in the 200m in 25.73, also a PSAC standard.
Justin Egizio impressed in the 400m with his second-place PSAC standard time of 49.35. The Hawks had three men's runners post PSAC marks in the 3000m, including
Dan Gibney (6th; 8:38.54),
Joel Beckwith (10th; 8:53.54) and
Marco Cardone (12th; 8:55.47).
It was part of a strong day for the men's distance group, with
Evan Weaver and Cardone adding top-15 finishes in the mile.
Noah Shannon-Hatchett picked up a PSAC standard in the 200m, while the Hawks had two 60m hurdle student-athletes with PSAC standards (
Brynna Kelly and
Addison Singleton).
The men's 4x400 team grouping of
Owen Putt,
Lawrence Anderson, Egizio and Branan took first to round out the event in 3:20.68.
