YORK, Pa. -- The IUP swimming team finished out their packed opening week at the Graham Natatorium on Friday with two sessions.
In total, IUP posted 10 total PSAC standards across the two meets. IUP men's team finished third out of five teams in both events, the PSAC Fall Invitational and Sprint Frenzy. The women's team placed fourth in the PSAC Fall Invitational and fifth in the Sprint Frenzy.
Overall, IUP secured 17 top-five finishes among nine competing schools, including three first-place finishes. Standout sophomore
Kasha Stokes excelled, clinching first in both the 50 backstroke (27.13) and 100 backstroke (50.02). Graduate student
Luke Mikesell also stood out, taking first in the 100 butterfly (52.23) in the PSAC Fall Invitational.
In relays, both teams placed fifth in the 200-medley relay, with the women's team—
Jordan Crupie,
Summer Esson,
Katie Crosscut, and
Kasha Stokes—clocking in at 1:53.07. The men's team—
Alexander Roth,
Julien Dampenon,
Luke Ramalho, and
Stephen Goff—finished with a time of 1:37.95.
At the PSAC Fall Invitational the men's 400 freestyle relay finished in third place (1:16.28), contributing was Nick Vaow,
Luke Mikesell,
Andrew Taylor,
Ben Holm. At the Sprint Frenzy the men's 200 freestyle relay place third as well (1:27.73), a part of the relay was
Andrew Taylor,
Stephen Goff,
Luke Mikesell, Nick Vaow.
