BEREA, Ohio – IUP men's track & field standout Dan Gibney hit an NCAA DII Provisional mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Friday's Baldwin Wallace Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet.
 
A two-time All-PSAC selection in the event, Gibney finished third on Friday with an NCAA mark of 9:06.33. Finishing third, Gibney easily cleared the NCAA Provisional time of 9:12.31.
 
Oberlin's Walter Moak (8:59.37) won the race with Purdue Fort Wayne's Harrison Niswander (9:02.55) following in second.
 
Gibney's time slots around 34th in DII and second in the PSAC at the time of release. The NCAA will release selections for the 2024 national championships in the coming days.
