SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – IUP concluded the opening day of action at the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Shippensburg.
Dan Gibney raced to a hard-earned finish of fourth in the men's 10,000m in 31:31.52. Gibney spent the bulk of the race in second overall before the Shippensburg trio of Garrett Quinan, Hayden Hunt and Aiden Gonder made a final push to claim the initial three spots.
After the opening day of action,
Renee Simmonds is ninth in the heptathlon with a total of 2,678 points. She claimed victory in the shot put behind a mark of 1.46m.
The women's heptathlon wraps up on Saturday with the long jump, javelin and 800m.
Sam Moffat (19th; 33:49.30),
Erik Moyer (20th; 33:57.54) and
Tom Brady (25th; 36:04.15) closed out the IUP finishers in the 10K.
