INDIANA, Pa. -- IUP (1-5, 0-1 PSAC) was defeated today 3-2 by Millersville (4-3, 1-0 PSAC) unable to make a fourth-quarter comeback.
The Hawks struck first, with fifth-year transfer
Cassie Romanczuk finding the net at 3:55, assisted by
Lauren Horning.
IUP controlled the offense in the first quarter, not allowing any shots on goal from Millersville. However, momentum shifted as Millersville responded with nine shots, five of which were on target.
The second and third quarters saw Millersville take charge, scoring three unanswered goals. In the fourth quarter, IUP fought back with Romanczuk scoring again at 54:52, this time assisted by
Jess Davidson.
IUP registered 14 total penalty corners and Millersville had six. Both
Anita Planella and
Brooke Eberly recorded one save.
