LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- IUP football defensive end
Maurice Feazell was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Defensive Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Feazell was a standout performer in IUP's impressive 31-0 victory against Clarion, helping the team remain unbeaten at 4-0.
The York, Pa. native logged six total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.
Feazell raced in for a strip sack of Clarion QB Anthony Guercio late in the fourth quarter, setting IUP up in the redzone following a recovery by
Terell Williams inside the 10-yard line.
Collectively, IUP forced seven Clarion punts and limited the Golden Eagles to 21 rushing yards and 93 yards through the air. IUP posted four sacks on the day against Clarion, adding eight total tackles for loss in the victory.
Throughout his IUP career Feazell has logged 97 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and 12 sacks for loss in just 34 games.
IUP returns home this Saturday, October 5 for a 2 p.m. kickoff for Homecoming against nationally-ranked Slippery Rock.
