MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — Millersville University's field hockey team edged past Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 2-1, Saturday morning at Chryst Field.
Alexis Kern opened the scoring for Millersville in the 5:15 mark of the first half, firing in her ninth goal of the season. Indiana tied it midway through the second, when Hayven Mumma converted a pass from Jess Davidson at 26:28. The game-winner came late: Peyton Bean found the net for Millersville at 57:41, assisted by Lauren Kampi.
Indiana ended the game with 10 shots (6 on goal), while Millersville managed 12 shots (5 on goal). I Indiana goalie Celeste Pagliaroli recorded three saves; Millersville's goalkeepers combined for five saves. edge in penalty corners, 7-6.
With the win, Millersville improves to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Indiana falls to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
