LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The IUP track and field program competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic this weekend which included numerous personal bests. The weekend was highlighted by Mike Formica breaking the all-time PSAC record in the 1500m, one of the longest standing records in the conference.
Cahsia Page placed 24th in the 100m with a time of 12.26 and placed 27th in the 200m with a time of 25.32, both marked personal bests.
Emma Laughlin's time of 12.30 in the 100m placed her 28th, and in the women's mile, Stella Kuntz placed 23rd with a time of 5:28.45. Bryna Kelly placed 16th in the 100m hurdles (14.75) and in the 400m hurdles Bella Brozeski placed 20th (1:04.69).
In the long jump, Nataiah Robertson placed 11th (5.31m) and in the javelin throw Kaylla WIlliams placed 10th (40.76m). Hannah Weaver's 37:57.54 time in the 10,000m marked a personal best.
Mike Formica broke the all-time PSAC record in the 1500m invite with his first place finish. He broke the record in 3:45.62 — .02 seconds faster than Shippensburg's Gary Bicking (1980) and Edinboro's Carl Leonard (1992). His time also marked an NCAA provisional.
Nathan Kociela ran a personal best in the 10,000m with a 31:32.88 time placing 23rd. Both Marco Cardone (37th; 9:34.42) and Nate Kuntz (39th; 9:39.07) ran personal bests in the 3,000m steeplechase.
