SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The IUP track and field program opened day one of the 2025 PSAC Outdoor Championships on Thursday.
Through the first half of the women's heptathlon, Renee Simmonds sits in fourth with 2805 points. Out of the four events today, her best performance came in the shot put with a second place finish with a throw of 11.54m. She placed sixth in the 100m hurdles (15.30), eighth in the high jump (1.51m), and ninth in the 200m (26.67m). On Friday morning, she will compete in the long jump, javelin throw, and the 800m.
Through the first half of the men's decathlon, Elijah Lingenfelter places ninth with 3096 points. His best performance came in the high jump with a fourth place finish (1.87m). Lingenfelter placed 14th in the 100m (11.83), 11th in the long jump (6.04m), 10th in the shot put (10.62m), and 15th in the 400m (54.83). He will complete the second portion Friday morning.
Nathan Kociela and Sam Moffat placed 14th and 18th, respectively, in the men's 10,000m. Hannah Weaver earned a podium finish with her fifth place finish in the women's 10,000m (38:47.39).
