KENT, Ohio — The Indiana (Pa.) track and field teams competed at the Doug Raymond Invitational at Kent State this weekend, highlighted by a record-tying performance from Matthew Cusatis.
Cusatis improved his NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump, tying the IUP indoor record with a leap of 14.88 meters. The mark currently leads the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Senior Renee Simmonds also posted a season-best performance, recording a personal record in the women's indoor pentathlon and finishing seventh overall.
Stella Kuntz added another strong result, qualifying for the PSAC championships with a personal-best time of 18:40.57 in the 5,000 meters, finishing third.
Several Crimson Hawks recorded personal bests during the meet. IUP will continue its indoor season Feb. 14 at Susquehanna University.
