EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Gem Crittenden represented Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the 200 individual medley preliminaries Wednesday at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships.
Crittenden entered the event ranked No. 42 nationally but improved her standing during the prelims, finishing with the 36th-fastest time after touching the wall in 2:06.53. Her mark was less than a second off the pace she posted at the PSAC Swimming and Diving Championships earlier this season.
The sophomore will compete in two more events at the national meet later this week, including the 400 individual medley and the 200 butterfly.
Crittenden captured the PSAC title in the 400 IM at the conference championships, a performance that helped her earn Most Outstanding Swimmer honors at the meet.
