SELINSGROVE, Pa. — IUP senior track and field student-athlete Renee Simmonds competed at the Susquehanna Multi and the Orange Women's Heptathlon at Susquehanna University, finishing eighth overall with 4,082 points.

Molly White of Scranton won the event with 4,850 points.

Among Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competitors, Simmonds placed third, trailing two seniors from Slippery Rock.

Simmonds' top performance came in the heptathlon shot put, where she placed first with a throw of 11.97 meters on her third attempt. She also finished seventh in the javelin with a mark of 25.16 meters.

She added a collegiate-best mark in the long jump, clearing 4.99 meters.
