LEWISBURG, Pa. — The IUP track and field teams competed Friday at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Meet, with distance runners highlighting the day's performances.
Hannah Weaver delivered the top result, turning in a personal-best time of 36:50.23 in the 10,000 meters. The mark ranks as the third-fastest time by a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference runner this season and was just tenths of a second shy of an NCAA provisional qualifying standard.
Madison Hartner also recorded a personal best, finishing the women's 1,500 meters in 5:08.35. In the women's 5,000, Stella Kuntz posted a personal-best time of 18:18.62, moving into the top 10 in the PSAC this season.
On the men's side, Will Weaver posted the top time among IUP runners in the 1,500, finishing ninth in his heat with a time of 4:03.17. Owen Sparks added a personal-best performance in the 5,000, crossing in 16:25.10.
IUP's sprinters are scheduled to compete Saturday as the Crimson Hawks return to Bucknell to conclude the meet. Events are set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
