IUP surges into regional rankings amid strong stretch

INDIANA, Pa. — The IUP baseball team enters a critical stretch of its schedule while battling for position in the PSAC West standings.

The Crimson Hawks have won 12 of their last 16 games, powered by consistent offensive production. Ricardo Aponte has set the tone at the top of the lineup while playing multiple positions, and Camden Rhude has surged in recent weeks, driving in nearly 30 runs over a three-week span.

IUP also received a boost with its inclusion in the first Atlantic Region rankings. The Crimson Hawks are one of two PSAC West teams listed, joining Seton Hill, while five of the remaining six teams come from the PSAC East.

Frostburg State is the only non-PSAC team in the rankings. IUP defeated Frostburg State 12-6 last Wednesday.

The Crimson Hawks return to Dougherty Field on Friday to host California (Pa.). First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
