INDIANA, Pa. — It was a week to remember for IUP sophomore designated hitter Camden Rhude. As hot as they come, Rhude belted four home runs and drove in 10 runs over five games for the Crimson Hawks.
With that performance, Rhude was named the top hitter in Division II baseball by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Rhude recorded two games with a career-high four RBIs and notched his first multi-home run game against Point Park last Wednesday. Six of his 10 hits went for extra bases.
With his performance, Rhude moved into sole possession of second place on the team in RBIs and is tied for second with five home runs.
IUP hit 12 home runs over the five-game stretch, taking advantage of windy conditions on South Campus. The Crimson Hawks rank third in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference with 29 home runs.
