INDIANA, Pa. — The postseason honors continued for IUP softball on Monday as Delaney Patella and Madison Pikula were named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Region Team.

Patella earned first-team honors at third base, while Pikula was selected as the second-team second baseman after both turned in record-setting seasons for the Crimson Hawks.

Pikula served as the catalyst at the top of the IUP lineup all season long. The senior leadoff hitter batted .390 with a 1.009 OPS while swiping 15 stolen bases in 16 attempts.

Her historic season also cemented her place in the IUP record books as she became the program's career leader in hits, triples and stolen bases.

Pikula's consistency at the plate and ability to create offense helped fuel one of the top offensive teams in the PSAC throughout the spring.

Patella continued to establish herself as one of the most dangerous power hitters in program history during her senior campaign.

The IUP home run leader finished the season with a 1.316 OPS and a .763 slugging percentage while starting all 52 games for the Crimson Hawks at third base.

Patella's combination of power and run production helped anchor the middle of the lineup as IUP tied the program record for wins in a season with 38 victories, matching the marks set by the 2010 and 2011 teams.

The two All-Region selections add to an already lengthy list of honors for the Crimson Hawks following a PSAC West championship season that also saw head coach Shawna Bellaud earn PSAC West Coach of the Year honors.
