BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Senior outfielder Maddie Griffin was named the PSAC Softball Champion Scholar prior to IUP's opening game of the PSAC Tournament, an award given to the top student-athlete competing in the conference postseason.
Griffin becomes the second IUP student-athlete to earn the honor this academic year, joining senior football player Freeman Wilson.
As an undergraduate, Griffin majored in accounting and graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. She is currently pursuing her MBA at IUP.
Griffin was also named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection in 2025 and earned All-America Scholar-Athlete honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
