Sophomore Alexis Anderson was named an IUP Athlete of the Week after helping the Crimson Hawks’ women’s volleyball team to a 2-1 record in their opening weekend of competition. The outside hitter led the team with 51 kills and 4.64 kills per set, adding seven total blocks for 57.5 points on the weekend.

She opened up with 17 kills, two aces and five digs in a win over Notre Dame (Ohio) on Friday, and had a career-high 21 kills to go along with three blocks against Lake Erie on Saturday afternoon. She followed that up with a 13-kill, 13-dig match in a three-set win over Alderson Broaddus that evening.
