Redshirt sophomore quarterback Lenny Williams, Jr. has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, Oct. 23. This is Williams' second IUP weekly award of the year and the fifth of his career.
Williams helped the 13th-ranked IUP football team to a 42-17 win over Clarion on Saturday, leading a second half comeback in which the Crimson Hawks outscored the Golden Eagles 35-3. Williams totaled 298 yards and had three touchdowns, going 10-of-15 for 183 yards and a touchdown through the air and adding 115 yards and two scores on 16 rushes. He did the bulk of his damage in the second half, rushing for 111 yards and both touchdowns in the final 30 minutes.
Williams is one of the top quarterbacks in Division II this season, has he's passed and rushed for a combined 2,008 yards and 22 touchdowns in seven games this season.
